Position Overview

Manage and support programs to advance the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA) strategic priorities to build a robust, diverse and culturally competent HIV workforce, and to increase access to health care coverage and services for people with HIV.  Collaborate with others to develop, manage and advance programmatic actions and policy activities related to HIVMA’s strategic priorities. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and management of the association’s project plan for advancing the workforce strategic priority activities
  • Manage and support project plans to grow the HIV workforce and reduce health inequities, assist with related research to inform provider needs assessment, facilitate outreach and collaboration with federal and industry partners
  • Manage marketing and recruitment for the Association’s clinical fellowship and associated clinical training programs, and serve as a liaison to the IDSA Foundation
  • Contribute to the development of tools and resources to support HIV health care professionals
  • Oversee the Association’s annual Awards program, including external and internal marketing and communications
  • Support workforce and health care access policy and advocacy activities as needed
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a system to track outputs and outcomes related to the workforce strategic priority
  • Serve as HIVMA staff liaison to IDWeek
  • Draft  internal and external communications to promote relevant issues and activities, e.g., newsletter contributions, program announcements and other marketing pieces 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • 4 years of relevant experience in health policy, public health or medical provider workforce programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; equivalent work experience can be substituted
  • Proven record of successful and efficient project management
  • Experience or interest in ending HIV as an epidemic and improving health equity

  • Ability to adapt and be flexible to respond to new issues and opportunities
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative
  • Intermediate level proficiency in working with Microsoft Office
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn systems or computer applications
